Eileen has been a Director in Genesis Law Corporation since 2011. Her current practice is mainly in the area of corporate law, with a particular focus on advisory and transactional work relating to investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate re-structuring, corporate finance and shareholder arrangements. She also regularly advises on related corporate and commercial areas such as corporate compliance and governance (including corporate secretarial work) and various commercial contracts including partnership agreements, leases, employment and consultancy contracts. Eileen also maintains an active practice in the non-profit space, providing advice and assistance to many social enterprises, non-profit organisations, charities and IPCs (institutions of a public character) on a range of incorporation, corporate structuring, compliance and trust-related matters.
Before joining Genesis Law, Eileen started her legal career in the local firm of Drew & Napier and then practised in the international firms of Sinclair Roche & Temperley and Watson Farley & Williams where she worked largely in the areas of non-contentious finance and corporate matters, particularly project finance, corporate re-structuring, debt and security arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other cross-border transactions. During that time, she worked in both Singapore and London offices and was able to gain significant experience in cross-border transactions and communicating with a diverse range of clients, from individuals to SMEs to MNCs.
Eileen was also actively involved in the editorial work and publication of the landmark Singapore Law Reports (Reissue) series by the Singapore Academy of Law, the definitive legal reports relied on by the judiciary and legal fraternity in Singapore, and was engaged in the commissioning of various books and articles for local and Asian law journals. She was also invited to contribute legal updates to Malaysian & Singapore Company Law & Practice (MSCP) published by Thomson Reuters, a comprehensive reference work on the law in these two jurisdictions, and continues to contribute regularly to this publication. She has also published several children's educational titles with a major international publisher and contributed to numerous corporate, lifestyle and educational publications on a variety of legal and non-legal topics.
