Wilson Hue

Director
+65 6236 0377

Wilson has worked as a lawyer for more than 25 years and has gained a unique portfolio of legal experiences within the different aspects of the law. Having been a lawyer in private practice, a government lawyer in the Attorney-General’s Chambers and a judicial officer in the Courts, he has seen the law in operation from different perspectives.

While in the Attorney-General's Chambers, he advised and acted for government departments, various statutory boards and regulatory agencies (including MAS and MOF), doing work which left him with a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks within which organisations and businesses operate in Singapore. He also represented Singapore in negotiating and drafting various international contracts and arrangements with other countries, ranging from trade related instruments to classified negotiations and transactions.

Wilson specialises in corporate-commercial advisory and transactional work. He has wide and in-depth experience in this field gained from the years in practice as a corporate partner in Helen Yeo & Partners (now part of Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP), whilst in the Attorney-General’s Chambers and as a director in Genesis Law Corporation’s corporate department. He has been engaged on numerous corporate matters (including shareholder agreements, joint-venture undertakings, company restructuring, M&As, share subscriptions and share sale transactions), commercial matters (including loans/guarantees, business contracts and business/property sale transactions) and advisory work (covering general business needs from regulatory compliance, employment, personal data protection, tenancy to directorship duties and insolvency).

Some of the more recent work he has led includes work relating to the restructuring and foreign listing of a group of Singapore companies, a share transfer cum loan/mortgage related transaction involving sums exceeding S$50 million, the sale and purchase of share interests in a Singapore business with a consideration in excess of S$80 million and a complex cross-border joint venture transaction.

Wilson takes great pride in his work, often going beyond the extra mile, and is dedicated to helping his clients obtain personalised, useful and effective legal support. His clients include individuals, start-ups, SMEs, educational institutions, funds, financial intermediaries and MNCs.

Being a firm believer in continuing education, Wilson has given numerous lectures on various legal subjects for clients, civil servants or the general public. He has taught law graduates undergoing post-graduation training and has served/is serving as an adjunct lecturer/tutor of undergraduates at the NUS (Business School) in companies and securities law. While in the Courts, he authored/co-authored a number of papers that were published by the Law Society as booklets for practitioners and was previously a contributing author to Thomson Reuter's "Malaysia and Singapore Company Law and Practice". Wilson has also been called upon to give evidence as an expert witness on Singapore company and securities law in the Federal Court of Australia.
